PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent detection errors and to realize accurate temperature detection even when the surface color of a fixing roller is different by every machine type or every machine of the same machine type. SOLUTION: An area 10 whose infrared output characteristic is different from the transfer paper passing area of the fixing roller 144a is provided out of the transfer paper passing area, and the temperatures of two areas are respectively detected by 1st and 2nd temperature sensors 321 and 322 of a non-contact system. The infrared output characteristic of the area 10 is made the surface color in accordance with the color separation filter characteristic of the temperature sensors 321 and 322.
