PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can decrease a tilt that is caused between the optical axis of an objective lens and an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: Tilt magnets 11 and 13 are provided on a lens holder 4 and tilt coils 12 and 14 are placed on a carriage to correspond to the magnets 11 and 13. The currents flowing to the coils 12 and 14 are controlled according to a control signal that is inputted from the outside to control the tilt of an optical recording medium 2 to an objective lens 3. Thus, the positions of magnets 11 and 13 are controlled. In such a constitution, the tilt (skew) caused between the medium 2 and the lens 3 can be corrected in response to every medium 2 that is to be recorded and reproduced. As a result, the satisfactory recording/reproducing operations are attained.
