PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a positioning roller from catching on a front lid and to execute excellent conveyance so that the front lid does not receive pushing and opening force when conveying in an automatic cassette conveying device. SOLUTION: In a magnetic tape cassette 1 loaded on the automatic cassette conveying device 10 which houses plural magnetic tape cassettes 1 and conveys them in order by a conveying mechanism, a recess 31 to which a positioning/ stopping roller 15a is locked is provided on the surface of a casing 2, the front lid 5 which opens and closes a tape drawing opening is provided in a front surface part, and a slider 6 movable in the front and rear direction is provided on the lower surface. The upper surface of the part corresponding to at least the recess 31 in the upper wall part 54 of the front lid 5 is positioned lower than the upper surface of the casing 2, and the upper surface of both side walls 52 of the front lid 5 is positioned at the nearly same height as that of the upper surface of the casing 2.
