PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduced signal detection method and its circuit. SOLUTION: This method comprises a detector for detecting an output combined in the same track direction of a photo-detector, the output combined in the same radial direction and/or the output combined in the diagonal direction, a control unit for detecting a data condition, interference between data and/or various system states, etc., recorded on an optical recording medium and providing a selection control signal and a compensation signal based on the detected result, and a compensator for selecting partial outputs of the photo- detector provided through the detector by the selection control signal and adaptively compensating the partial outputs of the selected photo-detector by the compensation signal. By using only the partial outputs of the photo-detector that the deterioration in signals due to the system states, the data condition and/or the interference between data, etc., are the least as the regenerative signal, a jitter of a detection signal is improved, and the performance of the system is improved.
