PURPOSE:To provide the titled selector capable of preventing misprinting even when a stepping motor is disordered, by a method wherein the type being currently selected is detected, and when the detection result disagrees with a printing command, the motor is reset to a reference position, and the type selection is performed anew. CONSTITUTION:At a specified rotational position (the reference position) of a photo-encoder 3, an optical path for a light-emitting body L1 is opened through a hole 3a and a light-receiving body FT1 is turned ON. In relation to the rotation of the photo-encoder 3, pulse signals having equal numbers to the number of holes 3b (i.e., the number of the types) are generated. When the type is mis- selected due to a disorder of the stepping motor MS1, a microcomputer MC controls a driving circuit LS to rotate the stepping motor SM1. When a type wheel comes to a reference position, the motor SM1 is driven again by a printing command. When the selected type agrees with the printing command, a printing hammer 2 is brought into a hammering action by controlling a hammer-driving circuit HD. |
