The snow chain is fastened on the wheel by means of spring steel fastener straps (1) on each of the free ends (3,4) of which is a fastener (2). The fastener (2) consists of a hook (5) and eyelet (6). The hook (5) is in the form of a bent wire hook (7) fitted to the strap end (3) by a pressed collar (8) on the end of which is a safety guard (9). The eyelet (6) is firmed formed from a tubular piece with a tubular rear section (12) by which is fixed to the strap end (4). The outer end (14) of the eyelet (6) is squashed together to form a concave curved surface with the eyelet hole (17) in the center.
