PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abnormal sounds from being produced owing to rubbing between a reel holder for elastically pressurizing a tape reel and the tape reel and also to prevent the reel holder from breakage, in the inside of a cassette casing of a tape cassette. SOLUTION: In the tape cassette 1 having the cassette casing 2 consisting of an upper half 3 and a lower half 4, a pair of tape reels 5 which is rotatably housed in the cassette casing, and the reel holder which is attached with a coil spring 40 held between with the upper half in order to pressurize the tape reel and in which a spring receiving part 38 and a cylindrical part 32 for receiving the coil spring are formed, the spring receiving part is formed into a nearly V shape in vertical cross section and the wall of the cylindrical part is formed thiner than that of the other part.
