A swash plate type refrigerant compressor, wherein an outside diameter d1 phi of a top face side end part (35) of a piston (7) is formed slightly smaller than an outside diameter d0 phi of the other cylindrical part (36) of the piston (7), whereby a tilt load on the top face side portion of the piston (7) is distributed, and lubrication oil is held by the top face side end part (35) of the piston (7).
