The equipment for felling and cutting tree trunks involves a sawing unit incorporating a sawsword (14) which is rotatable and a corresponding saw chain, together with a drive for chain movement. The sawsword rotary point (16) is moved during cutting in a plane coinciding with the sawsword feed plane, and with simultaneous rotation of the sawsword a continuous alteration of the engagement angle between the sawsword and the tree trunk is achieved. |
