Thermoreversibly crosslinkable elastomers (I) in which the reaction between acid anhydride groups and hydroxyl groups is used for crosslinking. Independent claims are also included for: (a) similar elastomers in which the reactions used for crosslinking are (a1) between carboxyl groups and vinyl ether groups, (a2) between halogenated alkyl groups and tert. amino groups, (a3) between isocyanate and phenolic hydroxyl groups, (a4) between azlactone and phenolic OH groups, (a5) the dimerization of nitroso groups and (a6) the interaction between nitrogen-containing heterocycles; (b) similar elastomers with at least two side-chain components selected from aromatic rings with a substituent with a positive Hammett sigma constant, aromatic rings with a substituent with a negative sigma constant, unsubstituted aromatic rings ( sigma = 0) and nitrogen heterocycles; (c) rubber compositions (II) containing (I); (d) rubber-bonded bodies comprising a vulcanized rubber composition bonded with a layer containing (II); (e) rubber structures with bodies (d) in at least one part.
