Continuous production of foamed sandwich panels, by foaming between continuous facing panels, splitting the panel along the foam and injecting further foam between the two parts. Foamable plastic is injected between facing layers of the intended panel and the composite structure runs between two belts running in the same direction. While contained between the belts the foam mixture expands and is cured. The continuous panel is then split parallel to the outer face and both parts form outer layers in a second stage in which further foam is injected between them and allowed to expand and cure. An Independent claim is made for the process equipment which includes first and second panel forming units with two compression belts and foam injection heads transverse to the belt movement and between them a panel splitting knife parallel to the surface of the panel.
