<p>A process of sintering powder particles into granules, comprising: (a) providing a laser to emit a beam of electromagnetic radiation to heat the powder particles (3); (b) providing a supply of powder particles to be sintered; and (c) causing relative movement between the powder particles (7) and the laser beam (9) such that each particle is subjected to heating by the laser beam for a predetermined duration and the heated particles (3) are thereby sintered to form a plurality of granules.</p> |
