A unitized check valve assembly comprises a valve body (16) having a bore therethrough, the bore having an inlet and an outlet. A valve disk (13) engages the body (16) at the outlet. A valve retainer (11) engages the body (16) via bayonet connector tabs (52) and surrounds the disk (13) and the outlet. A first biasing wave spring (15) is in compression between the body (16) and the valve retainer (11) and a second biasing coil spring (12) is in compression between the retainer (12) and the valve disk (13). The valve body (16) and the valve disk (13) preferably have a spherical mating surface therebetween.
