The invention relates to a method for visualising a garment consisting of garment elements with stitch lines on a virtual mannequin. This method comprises the following: a stage in which the garment elements (38, 40) are placed on the surface of the mannequin (32) or on a surface extracted from said mannequin; joining the garment elements according to their stitch lines ; relaxing each garment element from its position on the mannequin surface to a balanced position on the mannequin.
