An electric power generator includes a stator (12) having a plurality of stator members (16, 18,20); each of the stator members provided with a coil (22) and top (24) and bottom (26) elements separated by a gap, wherein the top and bottom elements each having a face. The motor further comprises a rotor (14) having a plurality of magnets (40), wherein each of the magnets having upper andlower surfaces that are particularly configured with a shape thatmatches the shape of the top and bottom faces of the stator top and bottom elements. The rotor (14) is rotatably mounted, such that the plurality of magnets (40) pass within the gaps in the stator members when the rotor is rotated with respect to the stator. Each of the magnets overlaps the stator faces as the rotor rotates such that the area of overlap and non-overlap of each of the magnets changes non-linearly.
