The AC voltage (B) is fed to a circuit that has rectifier circuits (IC1,2) coupled to a difference amplifier (IC3) to produce a full wave rectified output (I), which is fed to a peak rectifier circuit (IC4). Signal converters (S1,2) drive a logic circuit (LS), which results in a shaped output to control an FET (FET1) coupled to a buffer (IC5) to control the rectified output (D), by regulated discharge of the charging capacitor (CL).
