The cooling unit for car air conditioning systems used when stationary, as described in DE19839992, consists of storage components (29A -29C) which contain an ice-forming liquid. These are in heat-transmitting contact with tubes (30) containing coolant which form part of the profile of the storage components. The novelty is that the storage components are arranged one above the other and are connected by profile sections through which a single undulating coolant tube passes.
