<p>The present invention provides exemplary ultrasound lucent apparatus and methods for use in a wide range of invasive imaging and surgical procedures. In one exemplary embodiment, an apparatus (10) comprises an elongate wire body (12) having an outer surface and a longitudinal axis (18). The wire body includes a plurality of corner reflectors (22) disposed on an embossed portion (20) of the outer surface. The wire body is adapted to be inserted into a body lumen or a patient vasculature. In this manner, use of corner reflector technology enhances the ultrasound reflective nature to increase the acoustical reflectivity of the wire body.</p> |
