A process for the removal of temporary wax based coatings, that contain 0.1-10.0 wt.% poly glycerine derivatives (w.r.t wax) and are applied in thin layers to the goods to be protected, comprises treatment with water at 40-95 deg C in the absence of organic solvents, once the protective function has been fulfilled.
