A METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING LOCATION DATA IN A TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method for finding out location data and transmitting it in a telecommunication system comprising a terminal device (MS) which supports the WAP protocol and contains a WAP client program; a telecommunication network/environment (PLMN) via which the information to be sent and received on the terminal device (MS) is transmitted; a locating device (GPS) which is part of the terminal device (MS) or has been connected to the terminal device (MS); a locating application (PRGM) which has been arranged in the terminal device (MS) and from which there is a connection to the locating device (GPS); and a message server (SMSC). The locating application (PRGM) is started by the user of the terminal device (MS). A message of a fixed form is extracted from the location information generated by the locating application (PRGM) and sent to the message server (SMSC).
