PURPOSE: A hood stay rod for a vehicle is provided to use conveniently, and to prevent pollution by installing and releasing a hood stay rod automatically according to opening and closing a hood without using a hand. CONSTITUTION: A hood assembly of a vehicle is composed of a hinge installing a hood(1); a striker assembly and a latch assembly installed in the end of the hood and the end of a body; a hood stay rod installed in a fender(5) to fix by opening the hood; and a hood release cable connected to a latch assembly to open the hood in the vehicle. The hood stay rod consists of a pipe fixing rod(10) installed in the fender with a guide pin; a moving rod(20) having a guide groove(21) inserting the guide pin and a joint groove(22) in the upper part, and assembling with the pipe rod; and a hinge(30) fixing the moving rod in the lower part of the hood through the joint groove. Two rods are assembled with sliding by installing rods in the vehicle body and the hood. Pollution is prevented with operating the hood stay rod without using the hand.
