PURPOSE: A motor driving control apparatus and method is provided to extend a motor speed control range and reduce noise by selectively driving the motor in a PWM drive system, continuous ARM drive system or a pulse drive system in accordance with the set speed. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a motor driving unit(140) for driving a motor(M) by sequentially applying current to each phase coil of the motor; a buck converter(110) for controlling input voltage of the motor so as to correspond to the set speed input from an external source; and a micro computer(130) for controlling the speed of the motor by controlling the motor driving unit in a PWM drive system when the set speed input from the external source is low, controlling the speed of the motor by controlling the motor driving unit in a continuous ARM drive system when the set speed is medium, and controlling the speed of the motor by controlling the motor driving unit in a pulse drive system when the set speed is high.
