A flexible pipe joint of the ball and socket type, comprising a ball member (1) with a through central opening, a socket member (21) with a through central opening, and connecting means (30) pivotally interconnecting the ball member and the socket member. The pivoting of the ball member in the socket member is positively restrained to a single pivot axis by flat surfaces on the ball and socket members engaging each other.
