PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust system for motorcycles capable of improving fuel consumption by reducing the air resistance of a muffler body. SOLUTION: In an exhaust system for motorcycles comprising a lower cowling 4b covering a vehicle body from side faces to a lower face continuously, an internal combustion engine carried at a nearly center section of the car body, and a muffler muffling the sound of exhaust emission exhausted from the internal combustion engine provided, a muffler body 3 is arranged astride the rear wheel 2 from the front to the sides at a lower and rear position of the car body, and the surfaces of the side sections and the lower section of the muffler body 3 are formed connected to the surfaces of the side sections and the lower section of the lower cowling 4b. The lower surface of the lower cowling 4b just before the muffler body 3 is formed with a wind introducing slit 9, and the wind passes through the slit 9 is made to flow along the upper surface of the muffler body 3. In the muffler body 3, the right and left parts are connected to each other to be integrated in a body except for the rear section including a discharge port for exhaust emission.
