PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aluminum base alloy sheet having high strength as well as excellent formability owing to the formation of fine recrystallized grains and optimum for the use to automotive parts, electrical machinery and apparatus parts, or the like, requiring thinning and lightening and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This alloy sheet has a composition containing 3.0 to 8.0 wt.% Mg and 0.2 to 0.7 wt.% Cu, and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities, in which the final recrystallized grain size if <=5μm, and also, the tensile strain hardening exponent (n) value} is >=0.25.
