PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chromate treating method for a galvanized steel sheet capable of reducing the variation of the coating weight of a chromate film. SOLUTION: At the time of subjecting a galvanized steel sheet to chromate treatment in a continuous treating line, the relation between the conductivity of a chromate treating solution and the coating weight of a chromate film has previously been found, and, in accordance with the deviation amount between the actual coating weight of the chromate film measured on line and the objective coating weight, so as to reduce the above deviation amount, the conductivity of the chromate treating solution is controlled.
