PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce glass which has high internal glass quality, is stable at a high temperature, has good melting and processing characteristics and good chemical resistance and has s coefficient of thermal expansionα20/300 of 2.8 to 5.0×10-6/K. SOLUTION: An alkali-free alumino-borosilicate glass having, by mass % based on oxide, 50 to 70% SiO2, 0.5 to 15% B2O3, 10 to 25% Al2O3, 0 to 10% MgO, 0 to 12% CaO, 0 to 12% SrO, 0 to 15% BaO, and further having 8 to 26%ΣMgO+CaO+SrO+BaO, 0 to 10% ZnO, 0 to 5% ZrO2, 0 to 5% TiO2, 0 to 2% SnO2 and 0.05 to 2% MoO3 is provided. The glass is particularly adequate as substrate glass for a display technique and thin-film photocells and enclosure glass for electric lamps.
