PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically operate a parking brake in suitable timing in a vehicle loaded with a manual transmission. SOLUTION: This parking brake is automatically operated (S114) when a shift lever is operated into first gear, reverse or neutral in a state where a prohibiting signal SW for prohibiting the automatic operation of the parking brake by a driver is not turned on (S104, S106) and by the time the specified time passes after an ignition signal IG is turned off or when the ignition signal IG is turned off (S100 to S112) in a state where the shift lever is operated into first gear, reverse or neutral. Therefore, the driver's intension can be reflected, and the parking brake can be automatically operated in suitable timing.
