PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Al alloy bumper stay having a simple cross sectional shape and a simple structure, capable of using a universal (standard) Al alloy material, and excellent in energy absorption performance at the low-speed collision of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This bumper stay is made of an Al alloy hollow shape having a nearly rectangular cross section. The average length C of one side of the shape cross section, the average thickness T of the shape, and the length L of the shape have relations in the range of C/T: 5-40 and L/C: 0.7-0.4(C/T).
