BOTTOM SLITTER FOR SLITTER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom slitter for a slitter device allowing retreat of the bottom slitter from a path line with simple operation without requiring troublesome uninstalling work of the bottom slitter so as not to damage a web. SOLUTION: This bottom slitter comprises a bottom holder 1 moving sideward in the width direction of the web on a bottom slitter beam; a motor base 10 having one end turnably connected to the bottom holder 1 and the other end installed such that the other end can move close to and away from the web path line by a drive mechanism; and a slitter unit 13 comprising a motor 11 mounted on the motor base 10 and a rotary blade 12 rotated by the motor 11. By moving the other end of the motor base 10 relatively to the bottom holder 1 by the drive mechanism, a position of the rotary blade 12 can be changed over between an operation position for cooperating with a rotary blade of a top slitter to cut the web and a retreat position apart from the web path line.
