PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device for a rail improved in rail damping performance, convenient for rail laying work, and facilitating the visual confirmation of function loss or abnormal state and also the replacement of parts. SOLUTION: This device is formed of a bed plate 8 having anchor holes 8a near the corners on one diagonal, a thick damping pad 1 having anchor holes 1a in the same positions as the anchor holes 8a, a rail support plate 2 having anchor pipes 2b having anchor holes 2a bored therein and anchor fixing holes 2c, strut anchors 4 driven into a road bed concrete and inserted to and supported by the anchor holes 8a, 1a, 2a of the bed plate 8, the damping pad 1 and the rail support 2, fixing nuts 5 to be fastened to the strut anchors 4, and fixing nut protective caps 7. The damping pad 1 is diagonally cut in the central inside part of the anchor hole 1a to provide a replacing damping pad divided into a body part and a corner part.
