THIOL GROUP-TERMINATED POLYISOBUTYLENE AND CURABLE RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new thiol group-terminated polyisobutylene, to obtain a curable resin composition containing the above polyisobutylene, and to obtain a room temperature-curable resin composition comprising an alkenyl group- terminated polyisobutylene and a polythiol. SOLUTION: This thiol group-terminated polyisobutylene is obtained by addition reaction of a specific polythiol to an alkenyl group-terminated polyisobutylene. The 2nd objective readily curable resin composition is such as to comprise the above modified polyisobutylene and a curing agent (e.g. a metal compound, oxygen). A 3rd objective resin composition readily curable at room temperature is such as to comprise an alkenyl group-terminated polyisobutylene and a specific polythiol. The above compositions are the chief agents for sealants or adhesives, respectively.
