PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method of a brilliant coating film free from projecting a hologram pigment from a coating film, excellent in the appearance of the coating film, changed to iridescent color in the view from some angle, capable of seeing the base material through the coating film, having so called brilliant feeling combined with skeleton finishing and capable of exhibiting a design by a combined color with a color clear base coating film layer formed from a solvent coating material as an under layer of a hologram pigment- containing brilliant clear coating film layer and a coated material obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The brilliant coating film forming method is performed by forming the color clear based coating film layer using the solvent type coating material on the base material, forming the hologram pigment-containing brilliant clear coating film layer on the color clear base coating film layer and forming a top clear coating film layer on the brilliant clear coating layer.
