PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jig for a sewing machine so as to easily adjust a clearance between a thread needle and a hook without any deviation even by an unskilled user. SOLUTION: In a lock stitch sewing machine having a thread needle for passing an upper thread and a hook housing a bobbin for winding an under thread, a jig for a sewing machine is provided with a predetermined thickness matching with a clearance between the needle and the point of the hook so that the clearance between the needle and the point of the hook can be adjusted optionally.
