PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a compound expressed by formula I and inhibiting the action of a lipoxygenase enzyme, and its intermediate. SOLUTION: The method for producing the new compound of formula I is provided by reacting compounds expressed by formulae II and III in the presence of a strong base, a transition metal catalyst including palladium metal complex and a didentate, chiral and axially asymmetric aromatic compound in an aliphatic alcohol solvent having 2-7 carbon atoms to prepare a compound of formula IV, reacting the compound of formula IV with a single ring or two ring type heterocyclic compound in an aprotic solvent in the presence of a strong base, or sometimes in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst and heating under a nitrogen atmosphere to obtain the compound of formula I.
