PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming device for sheet glass which is capable of continuously manufacturing the sheet glass which has a small thickness at ends and is excellent in the cross-sectional shape of a wide effective width, internal strain and warpage. SOLUTION: This device forms the sheet glass 3 by passing molten glass 2 to a molding which is approximately wedge-shaped in its cross section and has a long-sized overflow groove 1a in the upper part, from the starting end S side of the overflow groove 1a toward an end E side through a central region, allowing the molten glass 2 to flow over from weirs 1c on both sides of the overflow groove 1a and allowing the molten glass 3 to flow down along side wall surfaces 1d of the molding 1, then fusing each of the molten glass 2 at a lower peak part 1e of the molding 1. The height of the weirs 1c of the overflow groove la of the molding 1 is at least higher by a prescribed size than the central region at the end 1f on the end E side.
