PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for working a stone plate which develop an effect of a cupressure, can be simply cleaned and has a beautiful appearance. SOLUTION: The apparatus for working a stone plate comprises a cutting unit having a main frame supported by a lower part and a cutting frame including a lower front transfer belt brought into contact with a bottom of the plate disposed and supplied forward of an upper part of the main frame to transfer the plate, a lower rear transfer belt disposed rear of the upper part of the main frame and brought into contact with the bottom of the plate to transfer the plate, side transfer belts disposed at and supplied to both side faces of the plate and brought into contact with both side faces of the plate to transfer the plate, an upper transfer belt disposed and supplied to the upper part of the lower belt, brought into contact with the upper surface of the plate to transfer the plate, a vertically moving means and an angle regulating means for supporting the cutting shaft for cutting the transferring plate.
