OXIDE CATHODE

PURPOSE: An oxide cathode is provided to improve life time characteristic and electron emission characteristic of the oxide cathode by adding tin or tin compound to an electron emission material layer. CONSTITUTION: An oxide cathode comprises a metal structure(1), an electron emission material layer(4) having Ba on the metal structure(1), a sleeve(2) for supporting the metal structure(1), and a heater(3) for heating the electron emission material layer(4). The electron emission material layer(4) has 0.1 to 20 wt.% tin or tin compound relative to a total amount of electron emission material, and indium or indium compound. Compound of tin and indium or alloy of tin and indium may be added to the electron emission material layer(4). A mixture of tin compound and indium oxide may be added to the electron emission material layer(4). As such a tin compound, ITO(indium-tin-oxide) is used.
