STEAM REFORMING CATALYST, CATALYST FOR CLEANING EXHAUST GAS AND METHOD FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress sulfur poisoning of a NOx occlusive agent by using a novel steam reforming catalyst and further to improve NOx purification activity of a NOx occlusion reduction type catalyst. SOLUTION: A catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas is constituted by blending the NOx occlusion reduction catalyst powder with steam reforming catalyst powder constituted by carrying an alkaline earth metal deposited on a porous oxide carrier by using an acetyl-acetonato complex of the alkaline earth metal. The acetylacetonato complex is selectively adsorbed and carried by hydroxyl group of a carrier surface and thereby hydroxyl group is formed onto the carried alkaline earth metal. The hydroxyl group has strong basicity and thereby steam reforming reactivity is improved to increase generation amount of hydrogen having strong reducing property.
