PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily enhance the cosmetic effects of massagers by continually and easily supplying hot steam to the skin by means of a hot steaming towel prior to the massages. SOLUTION: A cosmetic method comprising applying hot steam to the skin and then massaging the skin uses, as a source of steam, a steam generator containing metallic powders, salts and water and having built therein a steam generating composition which emits steam as the oxidation of the metallic powders proceeds, so that the steam generator emits steam of 50 deg.C or less from its surface.
