PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of parts and facilitate the mounting in an engaging part for a fishing line for engaging a tip part of the fishing line wound around a spool of a spinning reel. SOLUTION: This spool of the spinning reel is provided with the engaging part 70 for the fishing line comprising an engaging part 70a installed facing to the outer periphery of a groove part 7c and a mounting part 70b bent from the rear end of the engaging part 70a to the inside of a skirt part 7b and extending while facing the inner periphery of the skirt part 7b. The engaging part 70a and the mounting part 70b are integrally formed of a synthetic resin. The engaging part 70a is designed to nip the fishing line together with the outer peripheral surface of the skirt part 7b and engage with the fishing line and has a tip part 70c on the front side. A gap is formed between the engaging part 70a and the skirt part 7b by lifting the tip part 70c and the fishing line is engaged with the engaging part 70a by inserting the fishing line into the formed gap.
