PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems, in a general type combine harvester where the grading unit is placed on the running unit and the rotors having the axial center in the transverse direction are arranged parallel in the longitudinal direction above the grading unit, that, when a large amount of cereal stems are treated at a time, the sorting unit is also needed to sort a large amount of the gain-threshed product and if the second treated mixture is additionally charged from the reducing conveyer under such situations, a large amount of the second treated mixture is concentrated and piled up at the charging inlet, readily clotting occurs, resulting in marked reduction in recovery percentage of the grains, when wet straws are included, or in the case where the secondary treated mixture includes a large amount of the grains bearing rachis- branch, the rachis-branches cannot be separated conventionally only by reducing the second treated mixture to the front part of the sorting unit. SOLUTION: In this improved process, the second treated mixture is reduced to the thresh-starting edge of the first rotor arranged before the sorting unit.
