PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for a coating having excellent processability, processability at reducing work, chemical resistance and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This resin composition for the coating is obtained by formulating (A) a polyester resin composed of acid components comprising 50-100 mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid, 0-50 mol% aliphatic and/or alicyclic dicarboxylic acid, and <30 mol% aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and glycol components comprising 5-40 mol% alkylene oxide-adduct of bisphenol A and/or bisphenol F, and 5-95 mol% alkylene glycol and/or diethylene glycol having >=5 number of carbons in the main chain, and (B) a hardening agent capable of being reacted with the polyester resin.
