PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a cylinder head for either an intake precedence cooling type internal combustion engine or an ordinary cooling type internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A cylinder head 5 is provided with an ordinary cooling water jacket 9 into which cooling water for a cylinder block 3 flows, a jacket passage 10, one end on the intake port 7 of which extends in the direction of a cylinder column. It is also provided with an outlet 12 for the cooling water from the cooling water jacket 9, an inlet 13 for the cooling water flowing to one end of the jacket passage 10, a communication hole 14 to communicate the cooling water jacket 9 and the end of the jacket passage 10 with each other, a first outlet 17 for the cooling water from the other end of the jacket 10, a thermostat valve 16 for the inlet 13 and the communication hole 14 detachably, and a second outlet 18 for the cooling water from the other end of the jacket passage 10.
