A collection container is proposed for collecting and transporting relatively large quantities of exhibition brochures. In addition to this less frequent application, the collection container is also to serve as a waste paper container in the home of the exhibition visitor or as a collection container for kitchen waste, children's toys or the like, it being necessary for said container to be carried or pushed easily and, on the other hand, also to stand securely when used in a stationary position. This is achieved by a closed long container which is divided transversely to the longitudinal axis, whose lower part is supported on two coaxially aligned running wheels and a foot and bears a gripping rod which runs approximately parallel to the longitudinal axial direction of the long container and is extended upwards, whereas its upper part has an insertion slot.
