Plate filter

A plate filter is furnished with a multiplicity of filter plates (1) which can be pressed together and have filter chambers and between which a filter belt (2) is passed through and is deflected via deflection rollers (3). The filter plates, for discharge of the filter cake, can be spaced and the filter belt is divided into a multiplicity of individual belt segments (4) connected to each other, the dimensions of which belt segments are at least approximately in length and width as great as those of the filter plate (1). At both longitudinal sides of the filter belt (2) are arranged pulling means (7) which are connected together by transverse rods (5) in which the belt segments (4) are hung. Each two sequential ends of the belt segments (4) are hung together on one transverse rod (5), their ends being alternately furnished with loops (6) enclosing the transverse rod and with open intermediate spaces (7) into which the loops of the respective other end of a belt segment project.
