PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slurry treating system which can shorten a dewatering time period required for a dewatering device such as a filter press, to thereby improve slurry treatment efficiency, and to provide a slurry treating method using the system. SOLUTION: In secondary treatment facilities which treat slurry which has been subjected to primary treatment after excavation of the natural ground, a hydrocyclone 18 is arranged as a condensing/classifying means. Slurry is condensed by the hydrocyclone 18 to the specific gravity of about 1.5, to which a flocculant supplied from a flocculant tank 150 is added, thereby flocculating the resultant slurry in a flocculating reaction tank 160. The thus obtained condensed slurry is dewatered by using a filter press 100.
