PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous resin compsn. for carpet of well-balanced characters by improving at least one of sliding preventive property, washing resistance, heat resistance, weatherability of the aqueous resin composition, and workability during manufacture of a carpet using the composition. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition for carpet lining is one liquid type aqueous resin composition containing an urethane resin having a crosslinking structure, and storage elasticity of the resin obtained by drying the urethane resin having a crosslinking structure is 10,000-5,000,000 at a temperature in the range of -20 deg.C-100 deg.C. The urethane resin having a crosslinking structure has preferably a crosslinking structure formed by a siloxane bonding. It is preferable that gel fraction of the aqueous urethane resin having the crosslinking structure is not lower than 90 wt.%.
