METHOD FOR CUSTOMIZING PRINTING MASK FOR ABNORMALITY OF PRINTING HEAD NOZZLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize printing quality inferiority without reducing throughput. SOLUTION: In an ink jet printer 10 for improving printing quality and a printing method therefor, the printer 10 minimizes the visually recognizable effect of the dot arranging error 42, dot size error 44 and dot shape error on a printing medium 18 due to the adhesion of the ink drops from printing head nozzles 24 of low printing quality. A sensor capable of testing the output of the ink drops of the printing head nozzles 24 is provided to the printer 10 in order to determine whether the nozzles 24 are high or low printing quality with respect to the specific printing head 21 arranged to the printer 10. A printing mask 62 is defined on the basis of a test result. The printing mask 62 has a mask pattern enabling the bonding of more ink from high quality nozzles 24 and the bonding of less ink from low quality nozzles 24.
