PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fume removing device which is easy for an operator to handle for correctly removing the fume, heamful fluid evolving during welding time, toward a prescribed direction. SOLUTION: Box type covers 8 forming an air chamber inside are attached at the left and right of the front of a light shielding mask 1 for welding having a similar structure to a widely known one which has the light shielding glass 3 and a supporting means of a handle, etc. In the cover 8, for instance, a L shaped air blow-off port 7 is formed, and compressed air is induced inside the cover 8 through an air hose 30, and air valve and a silencer from a compressed air source. The air flow therefore flows out to the near place of the welded place in silenced condition, blows the fume ahead, and also, prevents the diffusion of the fume by catching the fume between the left and right air flows. In the case where a canopy tope hood is provided, because the fume is correctly guided to the direction of the hood, the fume is prevented from flowing to the direction of the operator from the weld place 24 and flowing around into the inside of the light shielding mask and being sucked by the operator.
